I can’t believe it’s April already. Things have progressed a monumental amount since I started working on this last November and we’re rumbling ever closer to that magic start date.
The main development recently is that the application for a PSV Operator’s Licence is now in the hands of the Office of The Traffic Commissioner. Provided there are no objections the proposed issue date is Friday the 16th of May. Six weeks last Friday!
Fingers crossed that that’s the case as the O licence is now the final piece in the jigsaw as far as the operational side of things go. I have a driver CPC, driver tachograph card, company tachograph card, a maintenance contract with a local garage, an operator base and a temporary Transport Manager.
Once I have an O licence I’ll then be legally allowed to operate. Which will be the cue to hunting for a suitable vehicle!
Whilst waiting patiently for that I’m in the process of sorting out the website at www.gocotswolds.co.uk (there’s just a holding page there for the time being), leaflets, advertising and my workwear.
Thanks to Rohan in Stow-on-the-Wold I’m now he proud owner of an awesome array of gear that I’ll be getting the Go Cotswolds logo embroidered on to once the logo has been completely finalised.
In addition to that I’m trying to be as active as possible on social media, finalising and researching the exact nature of the tours and getting out and about to as many networking opportunities as possible.
It’s been a hell of a journey so far and I haven’t even started yet. I’m very much looking forward to getting going now and also getting to meet and know more people from the tourism industry in Stratford and surrounds over the course of the next few months.
Bring it on.
