Understanding Go Cotswolds’ Cancellation Policy
At Go Cotswolds, we take pride in delivering unforgettable tours of the Cotswolds for all of our guests. We have visitors from all over the world!
However, one question we often receive is about our cancellation policy. It’s a very important topic! We’re here to clarify why our policy works the way it does, how it protects you when your plans change, and how it also protects our small family business too.
When planning your trip to the stunning Cotswolds, we understand that unexpected situations can sometimes arise. You can’t predict if you or your travelling companions will become unwell, or know when a train might be cancelled or a car break down. We understand that and will always do what we can to help you.
Go Cotswolds’ Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours notice
For our small group tours, we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. You can cancel your place on a small group tour, or change the date at any time up to 24 hours before your tour.
In line with our usual Terms and Conditions, we will offer you:
- A non-refundable transfer to a future available date, or
- A non-refundable gift voucher to the value of your purchase if you prefer (so you can rebook a future available date at your convenience), or
- A full refund
The choice is entirely up to you!
We are a very flexible company. Many tour and experience companies have less generous cancellation policies, or even a ‘no refunds’ or ‘all sales final’ policy. It’s always better to book a tour with us!
Cancellations within 24 hours
If you cancel your small group tour booking within 24 hours of the tour departure time, or fail to attend the tour for any reason beyond our control, Go Cotswolds’ cancellation policy is that we are unable to provide refunds, credits, or transfers to another date. Each booking reserves a seat on our 16-seat minibus and involves upfront costs, including transportation, staffing, insurance and other arrangements that are non-refundable to us.
Late cancellations and no-shows, prevent us from offering your reserved spot to another guest. Likewise, giving credit for a future tour prevents us from taking other bookings for that tour.
There are numerous reasons you might miss your tour. For example, illness; missed, delayed or cancelled public transport; broken down vehicles etc. For these reasons, and others beyond our control, we would expect you to have suitable travel insurance in place to cover you. We are more than happy to help you by providing any receipts or documentation you may require to support your travel insurance claim.
Delayed or cancelled public transport
One thing worth noting: if you experience any difficulties on the morning of your tour, please contact us! Our phone line is open from 7.30AM for urgent enquiries. We always have someone ‘on call’ to answer any urgent Whatsapp messages or emails. We also monitor the trains* from London and Oxford.
If you’re going to be delayed, or your train is cancelled, then (depending on the tour, and the situation) we can often work out a solution for you. For minor delays, we may be able to wait for you. If not, we can provide you with options to catch up with the tour by public transport or taxi.
In the past, we have been able to help many of our guests to reach the tour, even if they were delayed. We’re here to help!
Travel Insurance
We can’t stress this enough: having travel insurance in place when you visit the UK is really important.
Emergency treatment at NHS hospitals is free for visitors to the UK. However, many other medical costs are not covered, including: non-urgent treatment (like GP visits and prescriptions), specialist care, dental care, medical repatriation (getting you home if you can’t travel due to illness, injury or even death).
A good travel insurance policy should also cover: missed flights or travel connections, lost luggage and valuables, money spent on hotels, or experiences and prepaid tours such as ours.
Our TourSure Guarantee
Have you ever booked a group tour or activity and had it cancelled at short notice because not enough people signed up?
Frustrating, isn’t it? Especially if you’ve booked that experience as part of a bigger itinerary, or you’ve purchased travel tickets to get there.
Here at Go Cotswolds, we promise NEVER to cancel a tour due to low numbers – even if you’re the only one on the tour!
We call it our TourSure Guarantee.
If you DO need to cancel
Please get in touch with us as soon as you can. You can call or Whatsapp us on +44 (0)1789 224492. Or you can email us: info@gocotswolds.co.uk
We’re always here to help! If you need to rebook your tour, or need documentation for your travel insurance claim, we’ll do what we can to assist. We’re a friendly bunch!
