Our unique Christmas in the Cotswolds tours are a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the festive spirit, while at the same time exploring one of England’s most enchanting regions. Over several weekends in late November through to mid-December, we’re hosting a selection box of seasonal tours, each one just a little bit different! Join us to get your Cotswolds sightseeing fix, while at the same time visiting some of the smaller, authentic, truly local and fabulously festive Christmas events across the Cotswolds!

This weekend our Christmas in the Cotswolds tours will visit the gorgeous Cirencester Christmas market. Here, you can shop ’til you drop and soak up all the Christmassy charm of this most Historic Roman town.

Here’s a detailed look at what you can expect on this special tour this weekend!

Pick up times and locations

09:50 – Pick-up from Stratford-upon-Avon
We’ll collect our first guests from the Shakespeare’s Birthplace Coach Terminal in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon. This is the perfect starting point for anyone visiting Shakespeare’s home town! It’s also handy if you’d like to take a day trip by train from Birmingham . Simply catch the West Midlands Railway service from Birmingham Snow Hill or Moor Street to Stratford-upon-Avon, and our pick up point is just a short walk away.

10:30 – Pick-up from Moreton-in-Marsh Train Station
Next, we’ll meet our final travellers at this bustling Cotswolds gateway. Whether you’re staying in Moreton-in-Marsh, or taking the train from London Paddington, Reading, Oxford, Evesham or Worcester, the railway station at Moreton-in-Marsh is very convenient!

When we’ve gathered all our passengers, we’ll head off to our first stop.

The Cirencester Christmas Market tour

10:50 – Chipping Campden (60 minutes)
Step into a winter wonderland as we kick off our festive journey in the charming town of Chipping Campden. It’s known for its picture-perfect honey-coloured cottages and cosy holiday vibes. This is the perfect starting point for a day filled with Christmas magic and Cotswolds charm.

12:20 – Bourton-on-the-Water (1 hour 10 minutes)
Known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds,” Bourton-on-the-Water is even more enchanting during the festive season. Wander along its fairy-lit waterside, enjoy a spot of lunch in a local cafe, and soak up the festive charm of this much-loved village.

14:00 – Bibury (30 minutes)

As part of your magical Christmas journey with us, we’ll be spending 30 enchanting minutes in Bibury. Bibury is one of the most iconic and picturesque villages in the Cotswolds! Known as “the most beautiful village in England” (thank you, William Morris!), Bibury is a feast for the eyes and the soul.  Snap stunning photos of Arlington Row—those famous honey-coloured cottages straight out of a postcard—or simply take a peaceful moment to soak in the charm of this historic gem.

15:00 – Cirencester Christmas Market

Our festive adventure ends on a high note in beautiful Cirencester, where the Christmas spirit is just irresistible! Wander through the magical Cirencester Christmas Market with over 100 stalls, brimming with twinkling lights, and the scent of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts in the air. There will be live entertainment and gorgeous lights.

Whether you’re shopping for unique gifts, indulging in festive treats, or soaking in the joyful atmosphere, Cirencester will leave you feeling merry and bright. With its historic Roman streets and a market square dressed in its seasonal best, there’s no better place to wrap up your Christmas in the Cotswolds adventure.

Getting home

We’ll depart Cirencester at approximately 17.15. This will give you plenty of time to explore the wonderful market, so you can enjoy the entertainment and really soak up the Christmassy atmosphere!|

We’ll get back to Moreton-in-Marsh by 18:00, so if you’re taking the train back to London, Reading or Oxford, you’ll be in plenty of time to grab a coffee before the 18:55 train home.

It takes around 30 minutes to get back to Stratford-upon-Avon from Moreton-in-Marsh. So, for those needing to return to Stratford-upon-Avon, plan on being back at around approximately 18:30. Your heart will be filled with Christmas joy and your camera full of gorgeous Christmas memories!
