Budget traveller?
Accommodation in Moreton-in-Marsh isn’t known for being particularly ‘cheap’. Budget travellers who are joining a tour with us might like to consider staying in Stratford-upon-Avon. This is a larger town, where there are several affordably priced chain hotels, and a youth hostel. See our webpage here for more information!
The two options below are more budget-friendly, but since they are further out of town, consider whether the cost saving outweighs the inconvenience of the location.
- Fire Service College, Moreton-in-Marsh
This is a national training college for fire service personnel, but on weekends and during college holidays, the campus rooms are rented out to tourists and visitors. Be warned: the college is around 2 miles out of town, and it takes around 30-40 minutes to walk to Moreton-in-Marsh station. Taxis can be hard to come by for such short journeys, so we recommend you only choose this option if you’re prepared to walk!
- The Crown Hotel, Blockley
The Crown Hotel has affordable bed and breakfast rates, but take note that it is NOT in Moreton-in-Marsh, it’s in the nearby village of Blockley, some 5 miles away. Blockley has a Moreton-in-Marsh postcode, which has confused some of our guests in the past! Monday to Saturday, the #1/2 bus can bring you from Blockley to Moreton-in-Marsh station (and back again), but not on Sundays. Otherwise, you’ll need a taxi.
